Our Team

Welcome to the BNAC family! Since its foundation in 2011, the centre has continuously enlarged its pool of supporters and volunteers

Himanshu Prem Joshi

Himanshu Prem Joshi transformed garbage infested area into  Bhavan’s Nature and Adventure Centre (BNAC) in 2012, after being invited to submit a concept for an eco-friendly space within the Bhavan’s Campus in Andheri. A former Education Officer for the WWFMMRDA project Mahim Nature Park, he has been actively involved in biodiversity and environmental protection for decades. In 1992, as part of his endeavor to raise awareness of wildlife protection and in particular the majestic Asiatic lion, he set out on a 1,000-km walk through Gujarat. Himanshu Prem Joshi also founded the low profile set-up eco-tourism company Wild Holidays, which has been organizing treks and excursions in remote areas of Himalayas, Ladakh, Himachal, Sikkim, Arunachal, Orissa, Kerala, and others an activity which he is involved in, since 1982.

Volunteers at BNAC

There are currently more than 225 volunteers supporting BNAC in its many activities in Andheri West. The high level of engagement and the dedication of the team has been the backbone of the organization, and their contributions have been invaluable. Volunteers, some of which are students at the surrounding Bhavan’s Campus, support BNAC with maintenance of the premises, animal care, supervision of school visits, preparation of the annual Prakruti Festival, marketing and promotion of the centre, training of other volunteers, etc.

„BNAC aims to provide a platform for exchange and interaction between beginners and veterans in the field of environment and nature. The centre should become a source of inspiration and learning for the youth to develop their potential and enhance their abilities to contribute to society to make the world a better place to live in“
